D.E.S.T.A FOR AFRICA NGO is a non-profit cultural organization founded by Aïda MULUNEH in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The idea for D.E.S.T.A FOR AFRICA came about to address the lack of adequate photographic training in Ethiopia. We believe that through education and self-sustainable opportunities, Ethiopian photographers can promote a balanced view of their country. D.E.S.T.A FOR AFRICA stands for Developing and Educating Society Through Art, it also means "happiness" in the Ethiopian language Amharic. D.E.S.T.A FOR AFRICA promotes cultural development through the use of photography by providing workshops, exhibitions and creative exchanges.
